Moshe calls the heavens and the earth to bear witness. Then he compares the Torah to rain and dew falling silently on the grass.
No storm, no thunder. Just a fine rain that seeps in slowly, without force, without haste.
💡 What truly transforms doesn't impose itself, it seeps in gently.
In this week of Shabbat Shuvah, between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, this is exactly what teshuvah asks for. Not a shock, a patient infiltration.
The haftarah from Hoshea says it with the same images: God promises to be like dew for Israel when it returns. Not lightning that strikes once, but dew that returns every morning.
Returning isn't a one-time feat. It's accepting to be watered, a little, each day.
